IOL's DMX512-A XLR to RJ45 Socket Adapters meet the requirements, specifications and wiring patterns of ANSI E1.11 DMX512-A. Designed primarily for patch bays and for use in various DMX universes.

Four models available. Male and Female 3 and 5 pin XLRs feature nickel plated contacts, and the RJ-45 Ethernet socket meets the requirements of CAT5E and CAT6. Black, non-glare hard anodized powder coat finish.

These adapters enable the use of CAT5, CAT5E or CAT6 Ethernet cable as a DMX512 cable or to convert a standard XLR cable to deliver DMX data to equipment with an RJ45 connector.

IOL's DMX Adapters allow constructing a DMX512 cable quickly at a low cost. They can be utilized to convert a 5-pin to a 3-pin cable, or to verify data over Ethernet using DMX test equipment.

DMX512 (Digital Multiplex) is a standard for digital communication networks that are commonly used to control stage lighting and effects.

Expanded DMX applications include non-theatrical interior and architectural lighting, scaling to massive projects.

DMX512 is a variable-sized, packet-based communication protocol that employs EIA-485 differential signaling at its physical layer. It is unidirectional.
